What is incontinence?

Light incontinence.
Also known as stress incontinence and is when a small amount of urine leaks out during physical activity, including coughing, sneezing and laughing.  Usually only a little bit of urine leaks out but it can be very embarrassing.

Moderate incontinence
Also known as urge incontinence and is when the bladder contracts involuntarily, leading to a loss of bladder control and not being able to reach the toilet in time.

Heavy incontinence
Large loss of urine and being unable to stop before losing a bladder full.

Bowel incontinence
Also called faecal incontinence and is the loss of solid or liquid stools or wind with leakage.

How do I know which incontinence pad to choose?
You need to find out what level of incontinence you have (see above).  The description of each incontinece pad gives details of which level it is suitable for.  However the best way to find out whether an incontinence pad is right for you is to try it so please ask us for a free sample.(P&P is payable)

Can you flush disposable incontinence pads down the toilet?
No. To dispose of the incontinence pad put it in a disposable bag (also available on the website) and put out with your ordinary household rubbish.

The incontinence pad gets very wet should I use 2 at the same time?
No. You should use a higher absorbency incontinence pad or alternatively you can use a booster incontinence pad without a waterproof backing (Classic line plus or extra available on the website)

Why does the incontinence pad leak?
There could be 3 reasons for this
1. The incontinence pad could be on the wrong way. The absorbent side should be next to the skin,
2. Incontinence pads without a sticky strip on the back should be worn with ventilated stretch pants to ensure a snug fit.
3. You may need a more absorbent incontinence pad.
